This is the second edition but did read the first edition as a third year for a brief two week rotation. The Deja Review series is very similar to the First Aid series or Recall which follows a question and answer format which I prefer much more than the fact-type books. Since i have read both recall and First Aid I do have something to compare it to.

It has a nice clean attractive look full of useful high-yield information, charts, and vignettes. I'll start with the negatives: While a great book it is kind of on the bigger size to carry in the ED.

I usually read it in between patients or at home and used Pocket EM for my on the go stuff. It is organized by organ system which is what I prefer to learn by so I really don't see this as a negative.

I know some of my friends that prefer chief complaints. Not sure if this is a negative but it is not a text book.

I really liked the clinical vignettes at the end of each chapter. It helped to reinforce the stuff I read in the chapter. It is a must read and download book.
